Fortunately, the Minnesota Department of Commerce has an Unclaimed Property Program that is dedicated to helping individuals and businesses reclaim their lost funds. The program has returned over $686 million in unclaimed funds, and it is estimated that 1 in 20 Minnesotans has unclaimed property waiting for them.
To begin your search for unclaimed funds in Minnesota, start by clicking Find Your Unclaimed Property. From there, you can search for your name to see if any unclaimed funds are linked to your name. You can also search for unclaimed funds linked to a business or organization.
If you find that you have unclaimed funds, you will need to fill out a claim form and provide proof of your identity and ownership of the funds. The claim form can be easily submitted online.
Once your claim is submitted, it will be reviewed. If your claim is approved, you will receive your funds within a few weeks.
