If you have ever lived or worked in Delaware – or you currently do – you should check with the Delaware Office of Unclaimed Property to see if you have funds owed to you.
As of 2023, Delaware has returned $375 million dollars in the past three years alone!
To being your search visit the Delaware Search for Unclaimed Property by clicking Unclaimed Property Search. Next, you’ll enter your name or business name. You can enter your first and last name in any order. You can also include a city or zip code to narrow the results. And if you have a property ID, you can also use that to search.
If you don’t find what you’re looking for you can also fill out a Search Request with additional details including your birthday and SSN or Tax ID. You can find that form here.
If you determine that there are funds owed to you, you will then need to file a claim. After submitting your claim, you can click here to check the status.
Delaware notes that the state acts only as custodian for the missing owners, holding the property in trust until it is claimed and returned to its rightful owner. There is no statute of limitations regarding claim requests. You may submit a claim at any time.
