If you are a current or former Nevada resident and believe that you may have unclaimed property, you may be in luck. Nevada Unclaimed Property exists to help you claim what is rightfully yours.
Currently, Nevada is holding over $940 million in unclaimed property. Last year alone, over $40 million was returned to rightful owners and heirs.
The process for claiming unclaimed property in Nevada is relatively straightforward. To begin, click Search for Unclaimed Property. From there, you can enter your name and other identifying information to see if there is any unclaimed property in your name.
If you do find unclaimed property in your name, the next step is to easily file a claim online. You will need to provide documentation to prove your identity and your right to claim the property. This documentation may include things like a driver’s license, social security number, or proof of address.
Once your claim is submitted, it will be processed in the order it was received. The goal of the State Treasurer’s office is to process claims within 90 days, although additional time may be required for securities processing. If your claim is approved, you will receive your unclaimed property in the mail.
