This page is for anyone who lives or has lived or worked in New Hampshire. You should check with the New Hampshire State Treasury’s Abandoned Property Division to see if there is unclaimed property in your name – i.e. money owed to you.
New Hampshire has already returned more than $160 million dollars!
To start your search, visit the New Hampshire State Treasury’s search page by clicking Search for Unclaimed Property. You’ll then input your last name or a business name. You can also include a first name, city, and/or zip code to narrow the results. If you have a property ID, you can also use that to search.
If you find unclaimed property owed to you, you will then need to file a claim which can be done online.
After you’ve filed your claim(s), you can check the status here.
The State of New Hampshire notes that it serves as a custodian of the assets and never takes ownership of them. Generations from now, a family member could claim your property with the right paperwork.
