If you live or have lived in Vermont or you have worked there, you should check with the State of Vermont Office of the Treasurer to see if you have funds owed to you – also known as unclaimed property.
Vermont’s database of unclaimed funds was valued at over $119 million dollars as of 2023.
Start your search with the Unclaimed Property Division by clicking Unclaimed Property Search. You will then select if you want to search by a person’s name, a business name, or a city.
If you search by person, you will need to include a last name. You can add a first name or city to narrow the results. For a business search, you will need to include a company name with city being optional to narrow results. If you want to search by city you will only need to enter the city’s name. On each type of search page, you can also check or uncheck a box if you want or do not want the search to include “less specific” results. You will also need to check the box for the reCAPTCHA before proceeding.
Review the search results carefully. If you find unclaimed property you believe belongs to you, you will next need to file a claim. You can start that process from the results page.
