If you find you indeed have property owed to you, you will need to file a claim. Once your claim is filed, you can check here to see its status.
West Virginia notes, claims are processed in the order they are received and the process can take up to 90 days due to the volume of claims. There is no time limit for filing claims. You can make a claim at any time since the State Treasurer’s Office holds all Unclaimed Property in a custodial capacity until the rightful owner or heir can be found.
